Week ending 17 September

The weather held for the beginning of the week and progress was made on the gateway site.  The rectangular structures either side of the entrance now appear to be clear with a possible collapsed arch lying in the gateway (below, Cassi, our site mascot has managed to get herself in the picture, yet again!!).

The find of the week was made by Gareth (Gareth Reece is our site supervisor and really shouldn't be finding things like this!).  He found a very fine bow brooch and pin in the ditch that runs west from the entrance (below)

The weather turned very nasty on Friday, just in time for a visit from an MoD IT dept, taking part in a team building day.  They certainly deserved an endurance medal, but I believe they had a great day out!!
